I'm happy to announce the second edition of Karrie's Legacy.  This newsletter just scratches the surface of the ways we are continuing to honor Karrie and keep her memory alive in our hearts forever.  We are also nearing completion of a construction project at home with a dedicated memorial room for Karrie.  Pictures will follow once that project is complete.

Ten years ago today we were married.  It feels like just yesterday.  You came out of nowhere, into my life, and then, almost just as quickly, you were taken away.  That's of course not fair or accurate.  In the almost ten years we were together, from before we were married, until just two years ago when you passed, we built a lifetime of memories.  We traveled all over the world.  We had a daughter together.  We connected multiple families together.  We did so many wonderous and amazing things together.  We "lived a life, that we loved".  And, it's all because of you.  It's because you opened your heart to me that we built an amazing life together.  In this new chapter in my life, without you here, I've struggled to move forward.  But, alas, slowly, I am moving forward, and I know I must.  You will never be forgotten.  You will forever be a part of our lives.  I miss you.  Happy anniversary.

Birthdays are bitter sweet without Karrie in them.  They are still a source of reflection of many amazing memories.  Here's a pic from two years ago in Hawaii.

Since my last post, I'm happy to say we had a very successful Celebration of Life event celebrating Karrie on June 19, focused around her favorite places and favorite foods.  We had over two hundred guests at the Danversport Yacht Club sharing many memories of our beloved Karrie.  At the event we also released the first edition of Karrie's Legacy, a publication that we will publish periodically to highlight the many ways we will continue to honor Karrie and keep her memory alive.  Stay safe and enjoy the rest of the summer.  I'll plan to publish another update from/after our upcoming family Hawaii trip where we scatter Karrie's ashes in the ocean as part of a traditional Hawaiian Paddle ceremony.

We're closing in on nine months since Karrie left this physical world and our love and sense of loss is as big or bigger today than the day she left us.  Sure, we're learning to cope, slowly, day by day.  But every day, throughout the day, her loss is felt acutely.

There is still a lot to be thankful for.  Our family has come together and is supporting one another more than ever before.  And Karrie has left us countless amazing memories to hold on to.  In the last several months there has been real progress in collecting and organizing many keepsakes -- cards (Anniversary, Valentine's, Father's Day, etc.), notes, souvenirs, clothing, jewelry, and digital keepsakes.  To that end, this site now has cataloged over 1700 videos - almost all recorded by Karrie, with 518 including Karrie herself or her voice in some way.  These videos may make you laugh, cry, or both.  They will remain forever an important and precious part of our link to Karrie, unplugged...

Yesterday was Karrie's 44th birthday, and her first in heaven...  and our first without her.  She was truly an amazing woman who left a lasting impression on everyone she touched.  Let us all honor her by living up to the example she set during her all-too-short time with us.  I miss you honey.

We are making some progress.  There are about ~350 videos online now with nearly ~200 where you see or hear Karrie.  I've made it almost through all of 2016, and a sprinkling in some of the more recent years.  We continue to play 2-3 videos every evening for Ellie to hear or see her "Momma".

Missing you on this Wednesday afternoon Karrie.  Two years ago we were at the Marshfield Fair.  Feels like yesterday.

Today was a good but difficult day.  Thanks to Karrie's family we were able to go through a lot of her clothing and separate out what had meaning and emotional connections that could be saved for Elizabeth down the road, or given to Maggie now, and what else could be shared with the people she loved.  I could never have done it on my own.  As difficult as it was, I feel so much better with the progress made, and in knowing things special to Karrie will be worn proudly by people special to her.

Happy (almost) Anniversary Karrie.  Thank you for giving me eight amazing and wonderful years of marriage.  Thank you for accepting me and the larger Kapoor clan into your life with open arms.  Thank you for loving me unconditionally.  Thank you for opening my eyes to what really matters in life.  Thank you for being you.  I love and miss you so much.

I write this Sunday evening after an amazing weekend with family to celebrate my 50th.  Everything was perfect except for one thing of course, the day was incomplete without our beloved Karrie.  But hats off to the Liporto, Kapoor, Fisher, Comstock, Brucker, crew for making the event a success consistent with Karrie's high standards - namely that we should be surrounded by family and loved ones and enjoy ourselves with good food and drink by being thankful for what we have, all in line with her motto of, "Live the life you love."

I don't know when this hurt will go away, if ever.  I do know that we have to go on.  I know that there are smiles in between the tears when I look at the pictures and videos being posted on this site.  Hopefully they trigger some positive memories for you as well.  I added a number of additional ones this weekend.  Still over a thousand videos to go through...  Not to mention the 30K+ photos!

It is officially one month since Karrie's passing today.  I can't stop thinking about her.  Everything and everyone I see every day brings me to memories of her.  This project will keep me busy for quite some time.  Still many hundreds of videos to go through and lots and lots of pictures.  There are many new videos of Karrie in the links section, including her 40th Birthday.
